Daniel Cormier Disappointed That Fight With Brock Lesnar Did Not Happen

UFC Superstar Daniel Cormier spoke with TMZ Sports and he was asked about the potential fight he had lined up with Brock Lesnar that never ended up happening. Cormier said “I was disappointed, I wanted to fight Brock. I have known Brock for a long time. I competed with Brock for a long time in wrestling and I’ve always been a fan of his and we had that great moment at UFC 226 so the build was gonna be fun.”

Daniel went on to say that you can only worry about the things you can control in life, and this was not one of them. He appreciates the efforts from all parties involved trying to make this happen but in the end it did not work out.

Finally, Cormier was asked if he did anything on his part to try and convince Brock to have the fight. “Even though we are buddies there was no talking anymore when we prepare to fight.” Cormier continued by saying “Maybe now since that part of our deal is done maybe I will go start watching him wrestle again. WWE gave him such a great deal. There is no pre determined outcome in UFC and I was going to try to whoop his ass. Brock made the right decision, he always does.”
