WWE Super Showdown: Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler – WWE Championship

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston put his title on the line against Dolph Ziggler at the WWE Super Showdown from Jeddah. Kingston was able to overcome some smothering pressure from Ziggler early on, who had Kingston in a choke on the mat. Xavier Woods, who accompanied Kingston at ringside, ate a superkick from Ziggler, but Kingston hit Ziggler with Trouble In Paradise for the victory.

WWE Championship – Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

Dolph knocks Kofi down and talks trash, but Kofi lands a strike and splashes him in the corner. Dolph chokes Kofi on the ropes and stomps him in the corner, then Kofi mounts a comeback after a Boom Drop. Dolph gets another near fall and goes for a Famouser, but Kofi comes right back with SOS and gets a near fall. Dolph charges at Kofi and ends on the floor after missing, so Kofi heads up top and dives on him, also landing with part of his body on the floor instead of connecting with Dolph. He goes towards the steps and Dolph catches Woods with a superkick after being taunted, then they head back inside and Kofi goes for a splash. Dolph avoids it and hits the ropes, then Kofi calls for Trouble In Paradise but Dolph ducks and goes for a rollup. Kofi shoves him into the ropes towards Xavier Woods, who inadvertently causes a distraction on the apron, and Kofi hits Trouble In Paradise for the win.

Winner – Kofi Kingston

Following the match, Byron Saxton asks Dolph for some comments, and he says he outclassed Kofi, but he lost because Woods was watching his back. Dolph says he should be champion, but he’s going to make sure things go his way next time and issues a challenge for a steel cage match.
