Terri Runnels has spoken out about her recent arrest, saying she forgot she had a loaded gun on her when she was arrested yesterday.
TMZ had reported Terri was taken into custody after being charged with bringing a concealed firearm into Tampa International Airport. The charge is a class 3 felony, and it could have meant Terri serving up to five years in prison and $5000 in fines. Later in the day, TMZ updated their report saying Terri had a Glock 9mm handgun that was loaded, and was stored in a sock in her backpack. According to their report, Terri claimed she had the gun to deal with an armadillo that was digging up the yard in her mother’s house, and she simply forgot she had the gun upon arriving to the airport.

Since then, Terri posted the following video on her Twitter account, confirming the same story she told the cops. She says she needed it for the armadillos that were attacking the chickens at her mother’s house. Terri says she was staying with her mom for an extended time and got up early to fly to last night’s Samu benefit show in Allentown, and it didn’t even cross her mind the gun was still with her.
“I’ve never been in trouble in my life, and it scared the hell out of me. It was a simple mistake. It was just horrible.”
Terri closed by saying she “at least wanted you guys to know what mistake I had made and what happened” because she saw some outlets reporting she had I had intended to do something terrible” which was not the case at all.
