Several WWE Stars Not Going To Saudi Arabia

There are several WWE stars that are not expected to be making the trip to Saudi Arabia in two weeks for the Super Showdown event. As first reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Kevin Owens has informed WWE that he does not wish to perform at the show. This prompted Dolph Zigler to return on this week’s SmackDown Live, setting up a bout between himself and WWE Champion Kofi Kingston in Jeddah.

Now, Post Wrestling is reporting several more names that will not be at the show. Those are SmackDown Live Tag Team Champ Daniel Bryan, Sami Zayn, and Aleister Black. No specific reasons were given for their absence. Zayn was written off last year’s Greatest Royal Rumble show in a storyline. When asked why Zayn did not attend the show, WWE released the following statement:

WWE is committed to embracing individuals from all backgrounds while respecting local customs and cultural differences around the world.

Also, Bryan did work the Greatest Royal Rumble show in April of last year, but did not return in November for Crown Jewel.
