AIW Promoter Claims Fenix Lied To Him & Then No-Showed Event

Absolute Intense Wrestling is one of the top indie promotions but that allegedly didn’t stop Fenix from lying to promoter John Thorne and no-showing an event this weekend. Fenix and his brother Pentagon were supposed to be on the show, but only Pentagon showed up. The duo are set to be a part of All Elite Wrestling’s Double or Nothing this weekend.

Thorne says that the booking was finalized in January but Fenix lied to him throughout the day and never showed. While he was glad that Pentagon showed up like a professional, he was “extremely furious that guys feel it’s ok to behave this way and take no responsibility for not showing up because they have nothing to lose but a pay day and do not realize the damage this could do to a local wrestling community.”

Check out his entire post below:

Tonight turned out great but the day totally sucked, when you can’t get a real answer out of someone you’ve hired and booked to come in and there is just no accountability or care in the world that they have f—– over an entire scene of wrestling fans is the most frustrating thing to deal with as a promoter. I’ve never felt more bummed out than today this tops the Sid situation by a ton as I dealt with Fenix straight up lying to me throughout the day and realized as the hours passed that the situation was never going to get resolved it seriously sucked so bad. I know these guys are basically untouchable as far as negativity goes and their huge fan base is never going to stop supporting them but it sucked to deal with. I give Penta credit for at least showing up to a booking that was arranged in January even though his brother could not. I’m still extremely furious that guys feel it’s ok to behave this way and take no responsibility for not showing up because they have nothing to lose but a pay day and do not realize the damage this could do to a local wrestling community. Cleveland, OH, might not mean anything to some talents but it means absolutely everything to me as I’ve worked so hard to make Cleveland area wrestling matter and have put basically my entire livelihood on the line over the years to deliver a high quality product to Cleveland. I did everything that was asked of me and I still couldn’t get treated with enough respect to tell me the truth that Fenix was just not coming.

Thank you to everyone who came out tonight and understands, and if you don’t I just don’t know how to make you realize how hard I tried to make this happen today. This sucks to write and I’m sorry for the rant but I’m just feeling some kind of way right now.
