Mahabali Shera has confirmed he is headed back to IMPACT Wrestling after his brief run with WWE’s NXT brand.
Last month, PWInsider.com reported Shera would be returning to the company. Shera confirmed this report in a new interview with Riju Dasgupta for Sportskeeda, saying it felt like he was going home again.
“Impact Wrestling was the first company to believe in me and give me an opportunity. It’s not just a company to me. I consider Impact Wrestling home. And why wouldn’t you be happy when you’re going back home again?”

Shera had been with IMPACT from 2011 through 2017 before having a short run with NXT starting in February 2018. Shera said he only has good things to say about his time with NXT, saying he was happy there but things just didn’t work out. He also noted his positive relationship with Scott D’Amore as one reason he returned to IMPACT, and said his goal this time around is to not only win championships, but create more opportunities for Indians in wrestling:
“I want my return to be something that people never forget. I also want to become the Heavyweight Champion. I also want as many Indians as possible to get opportunities in the United States and in Impact Wrestling. I want to make a name for myself in Impact Wrestling and make my country proud as well.”
