Taya Valkyrie recently spoke to DailyDDT about IMPACT Wrestling’s latest show, Rebellion, as well as a variety of other issues regarding the company.
Speaking about her retaining the Knockouts Championship against Jordynne Grace at Impact Wrestling Rebellion, Valkyrie described herself as coming into the match very well prepared, and being able to attack Grace’s strengths in a way that made it easier for her to win. “I just have to be ready for anything, but I think that I came prepared. I had to break her down. I had to go after what I thought were her strengths, which was the strength of her arms and her capability of lifting me and things like that,” she said. “I was able to break her down, and I was able to get that victory. Her first loss in Impact Wrestling.”
After defeating someone who had never lost, Valkyrie’s next goal is just being prepared for who she might have to take on next, describing possible scenarios where she’d be tasked with taking n the likes of Tessa Blanchard, Rosemary, or Kiera Hogan. “I realize that I have a target on my back on top of this mountain that is being the Knockouts Champion, but I’m fully prepared for anybody that comes after me.”
While Valkyrie is now ready to begin defending her Knockouts Championship, she’ll have to be ready for any and all attempts at the belt. Although she was able to knock off the undefeated Grace from the top of the mountain, an entire stable of wrestlers are now ready to try and take her down.
