Daniel Bryan is reportedly cleared for a return, and should return to WWE TV in the near future, according to a report in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
It’s still unclear what the issue was, but Bryan had been sidelined with an injury and had not been seen on WWE TV since WrestleMania 35. It was noted that Bryan was at the SmackDown TV tapings on April 30th in Columbus, and he could return to storylines on the show as soon as next week. Bryan is still scheduled to appear on the WWE European tour after next week’s tapings, where he’s currently scheduled to compete in a triple threat match with Kevin Owens and Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship.
It had previously been reported that the nature of Bryan’s injury was being closely guarded, but it was not believed to be concussion related. It was also noted that Bryan’s injury (and Kofi Kingston’s rise in popularity) led to Kevin Owens going from being slated as the number two babyface on the show (behind Roman Reigns) to a new opponent for Kingston. Owens will challenge Kingston for the WWE Championship at the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view this month.
