NWA Owner Billy Corgan Talks The Organization’s Future

Speaking to SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, Billy Corgan – owner of the National Wrestling Alliance – discussed future plans for the Alliance, including what he has planned for this summer.

“We’re looking at running another key event, probably late summer, early fall. We’ll probably put something in between, like another kind of pop-up event, where we go work with another promotion,” he said. “We’re expanding our relationship with Ring of Honor…and then we want to start shooting episodic television, whether we put that on Honor Club or whether we put that on YouTube or something.”

Speaking to what he’d like to do in the future, Corgan compared his brand to that of the UFC, having multiple events run together to gather more eyes. “Ideally, we’d be able to run 4-6 signature events a year, at the level of Crockett Cup, and we just plan on building like that. Best way I could say it is a Bellator/UFC model where you have these signature events where everyone can put their eyes on you for that one night.”
