Lucha Central is reporting that Mexican promotion AAA is raking in the ratings since switching to TV Azteca’s Azteca 7. Their Good Friday event, which featured The Lucha Bros. dropping the AAA Tag Team Championship to the debuting Young Bucks, increased their viewership by over a million. Shows have consistently been increasing over time, with the latest show on April 19 drawing 5.4 million viewers overall.
This is good news for both AAA and AEW as they further their strategic partnership. Elsewhere in Mexico, AAA rival CMLL is in a less than desirable Saturday timeslot on Gala TV that is trending slightly downwards in viewership. They’re drawing in just over a million viewers, which is still impressive, but not anywhere close to AAA’s recent surge in viewership.
