Ronda Rousey Taking WWE Hiatus To Start A Family

Ronda Rousey is set to take a hiatus from WWE to start a family, according to a source speaking with ESPN’s‘s Ramona Shelburne.

This report followed Rousey’s Instagram post on Monday where she said she and husband Travis Browne were going on an ‘impregnation vacation.’ Rousey last appeared on WWE TV at WrestleMania 35, where she (and Charlotte Flair) lost the first all-women’s main event to now double champion Becky Lynch.

Rousey had previously spoken to Shelburne about the possibility of starting a family, saying she didn’t know how it would all work out, but there were many decisions to make as a family.

“I’ve not kept it a secret that I would definitely want to start a family. But how do you go about doing that? I love this way more than I thought that I would. So do you just keep going until you just happen to get pregnant? Or should you stop and go try and get pregnant? Or is going and trying to get pregnant putting yourself on the spot and then you’re less likely to get pregnant? I’ve never had a baby before, I don’t know these kinds of things.”

Rousey signed with WWE in January 2018, and made her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34. Dave Meltzer originally reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Rousey was likely taking a hiatus after this year’s WrestleMania due to wanting to start a family. Earlier this week, Meltzer also reported Rousey had a broken hand after her match at WrestleMania, which would surely confirm she would miss an extended amount of time.
