Ronda Rousey Before WrestleMania 35: ‘This is the First Day of the Rest of My Life’

The latest episode of Ronda Rousey’s “Ronda on the Road” series documents her WrestleMania 35 experience. Viewers see her arrive in New York during the weekend, attending tapings of The Today Show and Xavier Woods’ UpUpDownDown. You also see her and husband Travis Browne’s experience attending the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony the night before WrestleMania. One particular highlight involves a close-up shot of Triple H blasting Baron Corbin with a Super Soaker for a length of time far beyond what is reasonable. For what it’s worth, the Lone Wolf seems fine with the abuse from his boss.

On the morning of WrestleMania, Ronda stares into the camera and states that she’s not nervous but excited. ‘This is going to be the first day of the rest of my life.’ Ronda also states that her accomplishments probably won’t be appreciated until she’s dead, and maybe not even then. She prepares backstage hours before the show and meets with both Joan Jett and Roddy Piper’s family. Joan Jett admitted that this was her first time ever seeing professional wrestling, but she was happy to share the moment with Ronda. Ronda also talks with her mom AnnMaria De Mars backstage, who wishes her well despite still having reservations about pro wrestling herself.

After some shots from ringside of the Triple Threat Main Event, we see her checking out her hand, which was broken during the match. As she’s recovering, we see her embrace Triple H and Paul Heyman backstage. A stinger at the end of the episode states that “Ronda: Year One” is coming soon. That, along with the quotes in the episode, seems to imply a huge shift in Ronda’s life, as has been rumored since before WrestleMania.
