Becky Lynch Reveals What Vince McMahon Said After Women’s WrestleMania Main Event, Controversial Match Finish

WWE RAW and SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was recently interviewed by ‘Gorilla Position’ to discuss her big victory at WrestleMania 35. Lynch won the first-ever women’s match to main event a WrestleMania event. Lynch discussed the one cherished moment she has from the day, what Vince McMahon told the ladies after the match, its controversial finish, and more.

Here are the highlights:

Her one cherished memory from that day:

Yeah, but look, you can’t beat winning two championships in front of 82,000 people in New York – with your family, with your friends, with everybody there, making history at WrestleMania 35. The first woman to ever – the first and only woman to ever win a championship in the main event of WrestleMania. You can’t beat that. That’s pretty awesome.

What Vince McMahon said to them when they returned backstage:

He just said he was so proud of us. He was so proud of us. He did (give them a hug). But I said ‘I’m the man now, Vince.’ And he said ‘yup.’ (laughs).

The controversial finish to the match:

I’m happy I beat her (Ronda Rousey) with a wrestling move after she talked about how – she insulted my business. She insulted my business and I beat her with a wrestling move. That’s all we need to know, is that, the ref counted to three and I became “Becky Two Belts.”

If she wants the RAW and SDL women’s titles to be unified:

Nope. Absolutely not. I want to defend both of them. I don’t see a point of them to be unified because we have two different brands. We have RAW and SmackDown. If we go back to being one brand, eh, maybe. Eh, but maybe not – no, no, I’m “Becky Two Belts,” I need two belts. Also, I just like having, I like there being more things for people to fight for. There’s a lot of talent on that roster, but none of them are holding two belts.
