Sami Zayn made his triumphant television return on Monday Night RAW. He had been out for 10 months due to surgeries on both of his shoulders. However, he’s all healed up and is ready to dance his way back into the ring. He did just that on the night after WrestleMania 35.

Zayn took in the crowd’s warm reception before speaking. The superstar reintroduced himself and said that his schedule was open and he was ready for a match. The one that answered his call was none other than the newly crowned Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor. Who then decided to put his belt on the line.

The two highly-technical wrestlers exchanged holds and it was an even bout after the opening few minutes. However, Balor landed a great dropkick and then started to gain control as he worked his opponent’s arms. Zayn would battle his way back into the match and showed a tremendous will as he unleashed strikes on Balor. He then hit a blue thunder bomb, but it wasn’t enough to keep the champion down.
The end finally came after Zayn hit an exploder into the turnbuckle and then went for a helluva kick. That missed and presented an opening for Balor to use his double stomp for the pinfall victory.
After the bout, Zayn got on the mic and told that while the crowd missed him, he didn’t miss them. “The WWE is a super toxic environment … because of this audience and your ugliness. Let me be honest, I live a meaningful life but your lives seem so empty and devoid of any kind of meaning that the only joy you get … is out of being critics. Because it’s the only thing that gives you any sort of sense of self-importance. You judge everyone but yourself. That’s because none of you have the balls to look inside yourself. You’re so delusional that it’s hilarious. Seemingly overnight, you’ve become the evil overlords of WWE. Sami Zayn has been doing what is right and now the right thing to do isn’t to come back and save WWE and it’s not to takeover the WWE. The right thing is to come out here every week to hold you all accountable because nobody else will. See you in hell.”
