Despite being retired and transitioning into a producer role, Gail Kim will come out of retirement to face Tessa Blanchard at IMPACT Wrestling’s next pay-per-view. However, she told The Hannibal TV that she’s content with being retired and she enjoys her new role.
“I love it,” said Kim. “I think it was time for me too. I was already at the end of my career starting to help new talent, but it just felt like the newer generation was coming through and girls from my generation were just getting phased out. It was just me and Madison [Rayne] at one point. For the first time in my life I felt like an outsider in the locker room. Just to be able to be part of the business in another form has made me not miss the in-ring action.”
However, she is coming back. The reason was due to seeing a lot of herself in Tessa Blanchard. “Even though she has a bad attitude, she’s one of the best right now. Phenomenal athlete. Back in the day I had a bad attitude and she needs fixing, and the only way it’ll be fixed is in the ring.”
