Ahead of his WrestleMania 35 match, “Saturday Night Live” star Michael Che revealed his strategy in a series of Instagram stories. While he had plenty of jokes included, the Weekend Update host said he was quite nervous.
“I’m sorry guys … I’m about to make my pro wrestling debut and I am freaking out,” said Che. “Y’all might not realize this, but I never been in a fight with 30 people before. One is my record. And now I gotta do it in front of 80,000 people who aren’t exactly Che-heads. But my daddy always said, ‘Any man can lead a horse to water, but it’s the bigger man that can walk away.’ So, I guess I gotta give it the ol’ GED try. You only die once. That’s the motto. YODO.”
He went on to state that he could “very well faint on national TV tonight,” but that they “can’t punch a man that faints.”
