Dave Bautista Comments On James Gunn Returning For ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3′
Variety recently caught up with Dave Bautista to ask him about James Gunn officially returning for ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 3‘ despite previous controversy about some of his past Tweets. Bautista was a huge supporter of Gunn throughout the whole ordeal, and had this to say when asked by the reporter what he did to “work hard” and make sure Gunn comes back:
I don’t think – I didn’t really work hard, and I don’t think I’ve ever said that I worked hard, I just spoke my mind. I was just honest in the way I felt about it. I thought he was given a raw deal, I thought it was a bad call – bad decision. I thought the empowering of some really horrible people was made and I made my opinion publicly known.
Bautista also threatened to not participate in the third film if Gunn’s script wasn’t used. Thankfully, those problems were avoided. However, the WWE star believes Marvel and Disney are decent enough people that they would’ve granted him out of his contract if things played out that way:
No, I had a big issue, and I also made that aware. It was a thing where I’m contractually obligated to, so I could have, but I think that Marvel and Disney – if I really stood my ground and said ‘I don’t want to do this without James,’ I think that they are decent enough that they would’ve left me out of my contract.
But I just didn’t want to. I wanted to bring it home. These guys are like family to me, and I wanted to be involved in the third one and I wanted to use James’ script because it’s a beautiful script. But it’s just, yeah moving forward without James was a real personal issue with me.

Rusev & Lana Looking For Comic Book Artists
WWE stars Lana and Rusev announced on YouTube that they’re writing a comic book with author Jason Starr. The pair are looking for comic book artists to help them out with the project. It’s a paying gig that will grant artists a huge opportunity, and they’ll also get to work with Rusev, Lana, and Starr on the comic.
The comic is called “Dark Country,” but no further details other than the title were given. Check out the video here:
