Original Plans For The Opening Segment Between Seth Rollins & Brock Lesnar

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is reporting via his most recent episode of “Wrestling Observer Radio” with Bryan Alvarez  (online subscription required) that the plans for the opening segment of RAW between Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar were quite different.

According to Meltzer, the roles were originally reversed for the two with Lesnar getting the upper hand on Rollins instead of Rollins being the one who stood tall, but Vince McMahon made the final decision to switch it to Lesnar being the recipient of an attack with a curb stomp cherry on top.

When considering WWE’s logic of booking, many fans think that Rollins holding the belt high at the end of the segment indicates that Lesnar will be victorious at WrestleMania, but with McMahon making the change before the show, this might not necessarily be the case.
