WWE Returning To Madison Square Garden
PWInsider reports that WWE is finally returning to their home away from home to tape TV. WWE plans to tape RAW and Smackdown at Madison Square Garden the week of September 9.
WWE last ran TV at MSG in 2009. That show featured John Cena and The Undertaker teaming against D-Generation X and Jeri-Show. The Garden also held 2011’s Survivor Series and the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony in 2013. PWInsider speculates that the dates of these tapings won’t be made public until after WrestleMania 35.
AAA To Hold Madison Square Garden Press Conference
AAA is currently scheduled to hold a press conference inside of Madison Square Garden according to PWInsider. Taking place on Thursday, April 4, the conference is to allow “AAA’s top executive [to] share his vision for Lucha Libre’s next chapter.”
AAA is currently partnered with AEW, which could lead to Cody Rhodes’ promotion running the legendary arena. Traditionally, MSG has been home solely to WWE shows, but that will change once Ring of Honor and NJPW’s G1 Supercard airs next Saturday. AAA originally had a hold on the arena to run shows in Fall last year, but those dates came and went without any shows occurring.
