Women React To Having Match Scratched From SmackDown Live
Last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live was initially expected to feature a Fatal Four-Way match between Carmella, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, and Naomi.
However, shortly before the show, WWE removed the match from the SmackDown Live preview. The match’s winner was scheduled to go on to WrestleMania 35 and face Asuka for the SmackDown Live Women’s Title. Instead, Asuka defended her title against Charlotte Flair, who was already scheduled to face Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat match for the RAW Women’s Title at “The Show Of Shows.”
That bout will be the first women’s match in WWE history to main event a WrestleMania. Flair wound up winning the match, and the status of the SmackDown Live Women’s Title at WrestleMania remains unclear. However, all four women – Rose, Carmella, Deville, and Naomi – took to Twitter to offer their own reactions to having their match canceled.
