Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey & Becky Lynch Appear On ESPN To Talk Main Eventing WrestleMania (Video)

As promoted, Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair appeared on ESPN this morning to discuss their upcoming milestone moment to be the main event headline of this year’s WrestleMania in New York City. The three talk candidly about how the opportunity came to be and what it means to be a part of such a landmark moment in women’s wrestling. A three minute video of the sit-down discussion can be seen below, but first, some transcriptions:

Ronda Rousey on Conor McGregor’s overnight retirement:

It’s a creative way to retire and it was a cryptic way to retire. So we’ll see how permanent it is. If he wants to retire forever he’s more than earned it, and like I said, I’m ready to buy that second round.

Becky Lynch talks her journey to the WrestleMania main event picture and how she once predicted it to a friend:

Yeah, I’ve been working towards this obsessively since I was 15 years old. Like I left home and traveled to Canada and around Japan and around Europe and there was a period in there where I left the business because I didn’t think that this was possible, but there was always part of me that felt like I had more to do and that I wanted to accomplish this dream and even when I got to WWE I said to one of my good friends, I said to him, “I’m gonna main event WrestleMania,” and he said, “It’s good to dream, but be realistic.” And here we are.

Charlotte Flair talks the road the women’s evolution has taken to get to main eventing MetLife:

Main eventing WrestleMania is the pinnacle of the women’s evolution and even two years ago I think most people would say, “that’s impossible,” and look what the women from the past helped get us here and what we’ve created in the last few months and the momentum, now we’re walking into MetLife with a capacity of 80,000 people and main eventing WrestleMania.
