Many athletes make the jump from sports to professional wrestling and James Wilder Jr. seeks to become the latest to follow that trend. According to Bleacher Report, on March 23, the former Florida State running back tweeted that he’ll be trying out with the WWE.

If Wilder successfully transitions from football to wrestling, he’d be joining some of the industry’s most famous stars in that distinction. The Rock was a successful player for the Miami Hurricanes and even played in the Canadian Football League, like Wilder. Ron Simmons and Mojo Rawley are two other examples of football players who have became wrestlers after their football careers ended. Other wrestlers, like Brock Lesnar, have tried to shift from the industry to football but they haven’t found as much success.
