Kofi Kingston Reacts To Gauntlet Match
On last night’s episode of SmackDown Live, Vince McMahon finally gave Kofi Kingston an opportunity to punch his ticket to WrestleMania. McMahon announced that next week, Kingston will take place in a Gauntlet match. If Kingston can defeat Randy Orton, United States Champion Samoa Joe, The Bar’s Cesaro and Sheamus, and Rowan, then he will face Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 35.
Kingston took to Twitter earlier today to react to the news:
I’ve always known that my road to the WWE Championship was never going to be an easy one, but next weeks gauntlet match will be a tough and seemingly insurmountable mountain to climb…so let’s get our mountain boots on and get to climbing.

Ex-WWE Writer Claims He Came Up With Kofi Kingston Gauntlet Idea A Decade Ago
Speaking of Kingston’s Gauntlet match, it seems like this wasn’t the only time the match has been thrown out for consideration. Former WWE writer and actor Freddie Prinze Jr. took to Twitter and claimed he pitched the angle at Titan Tower over a decade ago to “deaf ears.” Despite this, Prinze seems to be a big supporter of Kingston’s journey to “The Show Of Shows”:
Pitched the Kofi gauntlet at Titan Tower over a decade ago to deaf ears. This journey he’s on is real. Kofi tells a hell of a story in the ring and I hope you watch this chapter.
