Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor and Bobby Lashley continued their feud on RAW. Balor attempted to defend his title against the former champion. However, Lashley won the match and the championship due to a distraction caused by Lio Rush, which let Lashley hit a mid-air spear.

As in their previous matchups, Monday’s bout pit Balor’s athleticism and speed against Lashley’s elite strength. Rush had been absent this time around and his partnership with the heavyweight looked like it was on thin ice after the pair’s recent misfortunes. Lashley dominated this match early on and repeatedly overpowered the champion. However, Balor rallied until Rush distracted him by ringing the timekeeper’s bell. There, Lashley capitalized and regained the belt.
