For me, believe it or not, I think as far as being a fan, the golden stuff for me was NWA, the Crocket years, the late ’80s into the ’90s. Dusty, Flair, The Horsemen, Sting, Muta – the way they handled Muta eventually wasn’t fantastic, but man they got him off to a great start in the beginning. For me, I had grown up being a North East kid on WWF.

But this was so different to me, I think that’s why it stuck out. And at the time – I want to say WWF – I mean we watched everything. My dad was, when I got into wrestling, was watching it with him. It started with Sgt. Slaughter, moved on to Hulk Hogan, then Steamboat, The Bulldogs, and all that.

I think as I got a little bit older, I wanted to be cooler, I saw the – not pro wrestling in of itself doesn’t just scream ‘cool!’ But I think it was just the NWA, Crocket years stuff that really kinda hooked me.
