The Honky Tonk Man Is The Second Inductee For WWE Hall Of Fame Class Of 2019

The Honky Tonk Man, the self-proclaimed greatest Intercontinental Champion of all-time, is joining D-Generation X as the second inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame for 2019.

Honky Tonk famously held the IC championship for 64 weeks from ’87-’88 during his run as one of WWE’s biggest heels of the era. The Elvis-alike turned down an induction in 2010 but felt this year the timing is right for him, telling CBS this where he wants to finish up.

“WWE is the place to be. For me, it’s the only place I have ever wanted to be. It’s the place that if I’m ready to finish up, that’s where I want to be,” He said on CBS’ State of Combat podcast. “It’s home for me because I have so many fond memories of everything that has been accomplished by WWE and from what I’ve accomplished myself. It wasn’t me alone, it was a huge team effort.”

Honky Tonk will appear at WrestleMania 35 for his official induction alongside D-Generation X and the as-yet-unannounced rest of the Hall of Fame class of 2019.
