Charlotte Flair On Continuing Her Dad’s Legacy: ‘I’m Going Above and Beyond’

Charlotte Flair talked about wrestling with her dad’s prestigious legacy, stating that she believes she’s established herself as her own talent.

Appearing on WBRC-TV, transcribed by Charlotte Observer, she makes it clear what her dad’s name means to her, and that being his daughter has weighed on her.

“My dad’s legacy means the world to me,” the former WWE Women’s Champion said. “(But) do I pay homage to him or do I not? Is it OK to ‘WOO’? Is it not OK? Is it too much? Is it not? I just have to tell myself, and remember, that I am way more athletic than my dad was and what I am doing now, it’s OK to continue my dad’s legacy, and carry the last name, and WOO, and strut, and do all those things because … I’m going above and beyond and showing that I’m also a talent — versus just Flair’s kid.”

Charlotte is set to make history at this year’s WrestleMania, performing in pay-per-view’s first ever women’s main event alongside Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch.
