Cody Rhodes and Nick Jackson took part in a media scrum interview after last week’s All Elite Wrestling ticket event in Las Vegas.
During the session, Cody was asked if there’s any type of influence he might take from WCW since he spent time growing up around the company due to his father’s role working for the now-defunct promotion:
Cody: It sounds super romantic when you think about it; Dusty Rhodes competed with Vince McMahon, and he lost. And here’s his youngest son that’s going to try and cut Vince’s head off—it’s not super Game Of Thrones. If it’s just me, in the back of my mind, I think about it a lot, but again, I have these guys with me who have different visions.
You can’t turn the clock back on old wrestling. WCW was what it was, and it was frickin’ awesome. AEW is going to be a whole separate animal. Thankfully I have these guys…
Nick: You can use elements of it thought. And we will. We’ll use elements of the old school wrestling, we’ll use stuff that’s modern day. I think a mix of that would be perfect.
