Ian Riccaboni Encourages Fans During Black History Month
Ring Of Honor‘s lead announcer Ian Riccaboni took some time on Twitter to comment what Black History Month means to him and what it should inspire fans of wrestling to do. The several Tweets that he shared are below:
They were strong, smart, great athletes, funny, and witty. In wrestling's history, its history with diversity is mixed but its trailblazers should be recognized. Bearcat Wright, Ernie Ladd, Thunderbolt Patterson, Bobo Brazil, and Tony Atlas paved the wave.

to seek them out! And try to reconcile the context of the time. We have come quite a long way with work to do, but as with my favorite poet Langston Hughes, as with Jackie Robinson, these athletes should be recognized for the pioneers they were in wrestling.

And of course, I'm sure I forgot or perhaps don't know about dozens of other trailblazers. Thankfully, that is why we have historians like @TheJimCornette, @ColtCabana, @rohcary, @Lagana, @GreatBrianLast, among others who continue to tell the stories of those out of memory.
