Jerry Lawler Says Nia Jax Got ‘Real Heat’ With R-Truth Over Royal Rumble Attack

Jerry Lawler says Nia Jax’s run-in during the men’s Royal Rumble appearance on Sunday actually got R-Truth angry.

During the latest episode of Dinner With The King, Lawler said Nia hit Truth hard enough that it sent him face-first into the wall in the entry way:

“Her first move—and this got real heat, for real—she blasted poor R-Truth and knocked him face-first into that wall. He was hot, real hot.

He was real hot, let me tell you, they were having to hold him back back there. She made it look good, it was very impressive.”

Lawler and co-host Glenn Moore went on to praise her time in the men’s match, saying she had a good showing and looked impressive:

“It did empower her, she went one on one with those top guys, she went one on one with each one of them and she held her own, maybe even overpowered some of them. It finally took all of the guys ganging up on her to overcome her.”

Rajah.com has reported more on this story, saying the backstage incident saw Truth being held back by a group of agents including ‘Road Dogg’ Brian James, claiming Jax hurt his ankle and face. It was also noted that since their original report, WWE.com has posted footage of Truth looking for Nia backstage, but it doesn’t feature anything aggressive as described, so it’s possible that Truth’s reaction was a work, or a combination of the two.
