Update On The Revival Reportedly Asking For Their WWE Release

Update: This week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports The Revival did in fact ask for their releases. It was said the team asked to be released shortly after they defeated Lucha House Party on RAW, as they were still in their ring gear.

It was stated that despite asking for their release, it does not mean it has been or will be granted. The Observer noted the word going around is nobody asking for a release is expected to have it granted for ‘obvious reasons.’

Additionally, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp posted the following comments, clarifying his original report about the team possibly being on their way out of WWE:

“Was told yesterday morning Revival quit on the spot, but the terminology was phrased in such a way I could hardly report that they’d formally asked for their release. Several wrestlers and employees confirmed that WWE didn’t want to release them and hoped to fix things.”

According to a report from Fightful, there are those within WWE who are ‘fearful’ that top RAW tag team, The Revival may be finishing up their time the company.

According to the report, there was a situation that unfolded on Monday that has people within the company believing that the duo may be finishing up. While there’s no indication of Dash and Dawson outright asking for their release, a source stated that all matters are handled on a case-by-case basis.

It was stated that sources within WWE feel like The Revival may be destined for All Elite Wrestling. The Revival were the subject of a long-running joke on the Elite’s web series, Being The Elite. In regards to that gag, Dash Wilder did just recently apply for the trademark ‘FTR.’
