Elias was on WMC 5 in Memphis, TN and talked about performing tonight on WWE RAW for the Bluff City crowd. In the interview, Elias talks about what the live crowd can expect, how he goes about making his song choices and who he is on RAW is who he is as a person. Below is the WMC 5 write-up as well as the link to full video of their interview with The Drifter himself:
Elias talked about his performances being worth going to RAW for:
“An Elias performance is worth the price of admission.”
Every city he goes to, it’s a different song. Elias, the quasi-music star, is set to play his guitar for fans in the Bluff City, following in the footsteps of B.B. King, Elvis and others.
“And now Elias is here. What a perfect fit,” he said.
Elias said there’s a different feeling performing in Memphis:
“Every city we go to is a little bit different, but there’s a little bit extra…I wanna say energy because of the history in Memphis here. It’s the fans of wrestling past and present getting together and it’s going to be fantastic tonight.”
Andrew Douglas made the unfortunate mistake of calling it “an act.”
“I really don’t like you calling it an act. Because this is my real life. This is who I am, and this is what I do.” (Fortunately, no digital content producers were placed in a choke hold this time. Thanks, Samoa Joe.)
For him, the last few years with WWE have been a dream come true.
“It’s everything you want it to be if you’re a fan of wrestling, because that’s what I am, a fan of wrestling,” he said. “I always wanted to be a wrestler.”
