Bret Hart Returns To WWE This Day In History

It was eight years ago today when Bret Hart made his near unfathomable return to WWE after being gone from the company after “The Montreal Screwjob” that went down 12 years before that at Survivor Series 1997. That night on WWE RAW, Hitman made amends with his long-time rival Shawn Michaels in which the two shared an embrace with one another while from a storyline perspective, Hart was screwed once again by Vince McMahon to further a feud with each other going into WrestleMania 26 and leading to a match in which “The Excellence Of Execution” got his retribution on his former boss.

This return by the Hitman was also highlighted with a United States Championship run when Hart defeated The Miz via submission on the May 17th episode of RAW that year.
