RAW Superstar Seth Rollins joined Fox 2 News in promotion of tonight’s RAW in Detroit, Michigan. Rollins gave high praise to audiences in Detroit, “They’re wild, man. They’ve got a certain attitude about them that I like, you know what I mean? You take a little extra work to get them going, but once you establish a relationship and a rapport, some of the best fans in the world.” The former WWE Champion also teased that WrestleMania could one day return to Detroit.
Rollins also looked ahead to 2019, “[Winning the Royal Rumble] sounds good, I’m not gonna lie. 2018 was a great year for me, a bit of a renaissance for my career and in 2019 I’m looking to kinda take the next step. The Royal Rumble is coming up in Phoenix, later in January and then WrestleMania in New York City coming up in March-April. Who knows? I’m looking forward to getting back to it and seeing what 2019 has in store.”
Rollins took time to detail his meteoric rise to stardom in wrestling, “It’s like any labor of love, if you will. You’re in it not for the money, not for the fame, but because you have a passion for it. When I was 18, that’s what I did. I had a little bit of cash and trained to be a wrestler. I cut my teeth and did my time on the Midwest independent circuit and I was able to have a good support system. I’ve got opportunities over the years and I worked my way up. I’ve been with WWE now for over eight years and on television on Monday Night RAW for six years. It’s been a blast for me: fifteen years in the wrestling business.”
He also opened up on the expansion of WWE, “WWE is amazing. It’s a global brand now. We’re going all over the entire world. We’ve got, RAW, SmackDown. We’ve got NXT. We’ve got NXT UK. We’ve got a developmental center in Orlando, Florida, so the company has just grown by leaps and bounds over the years and it’s really cool to be a part of that.”
Rollins took questions from Nolan, a young fan, and signed his championship belt, as well. Nolan wanted a status update on Roman Reigns, who is battling leukemia. Rollins obliged, “Roman’s doing great. Obviously, he spent the holiday home with his family and he’s doing really good. He’s in a good position. He’s primed to make a comeback, hopefully sometime sooner, rather than later, but at the end of the day he’s just focused on getting health right now. I will say he’s doing good, good spirits.
