NXT Preview For 12/26: Women’s Fatal 4 Way #1 Contender’s Match, Will Ciampa Address The Steel Cage Controversy?

We encourage you to begin your discussion about tonight’s NXT in the comments section at the bottom of this post, the WZ Forums or via the WZ FB Discussion Group.

WWE.com has released the following Quick Hits for tonight’s episode of NXT:

WWE’s full NXT preview can be found HERE. We have included some excerpts below:

Who will challenge Shayna Baszler?

NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler will find out her opponent for TakeOver: Phoenix when Io Shirai, Bianca Belair, Lacey Evans and Mia Yim square off in a No. 1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way Match this Wednesday on WWE Network.

The high-stakes match brings into conflict four of the fastest-rising competitors in the division. Riding the momentum of an incredible undefeated streak, Belair was the first Superstar to qualify for the four-way fight, followed by the hard-hitting Lady of NXT, who has since been earmarked for an impending debut on either Raw or SmackDown LIVE.

Yim earned her berth with an impressive win against the powerful Reina González on the Dec. 12 edition of NXT, while The Genius of the Sky was named to the match after her impressive NXT TV debut on Dec. 19.

Between The EST of NXT’s jaw-dropping athleticism, Evans’ malicious quest to rid NXT of “nasties,” Yim’s considerable ring experience and Shirai’s dynamic aerial arsenal, the duel is guaranteed to be all action from bell to bell. Who will separate herself from the pack and claim a title match with The Queen of Spades?

Will Ciampa address last week’s steel cage controversy?

The closing moments of last Wednesday’s wild steel cage showdown between Aleister Black and Johnny Gargano opened the door to lots of speculation among NXT Universe members about the relationship between Gargano and NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa.

It was once unthinkable that Johnny Wrestling and The Blackheart would ever again join forces to hit #DIY’s signature move, yet that’s exactly what sealed Gargano’s win over The Dutch Destroyer. As the NXT Universe struggles to wrap their collective heads around that surreal scene, will the self-proclaimed Greatest Sports-Entertainer of All Time shed any light on the matter? He’s already welcomed Gargano “home” on Twitter, but will he elaborate further?
