Beth Phoenix ‘Humbled’, Named First Woman To Be Inducted To Trago/Thesz Pro Wrestling Hall Of Fame

The Dan Gable Museum took to Twitter to announce that WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix will be the first woman to be inducted into the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame. The Dan Gable Museum recognized the gravity of the historic announcement , ‘CEILING SHATTERED!:

Beth Phoenix replied to the announcement via Twitter, “I am SO humbled and grateful!!! Thank you for this honor and putting a spotlight on women’s wrestling. I marvel at today’s female athletes and how they inspire all generations (including my two young daughters!)

Wrestling pioneer Dan Gable added, “Being the first female inducted into the Tragos/Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame means that wrestling is very serious about its future at all levels. Congratulations, Beth!” –Dan Gable on being inducted into the Tragos/Thesz HOF.”

Beth Phoenix last wrestled a full time schedule with WWE in 2012. She was inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017 and last competed at the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble match in 2018 and has since added commentary to the second Mae Young Classic. Phoenix is a former WWE Women’s Champion and Divas Champion.
