Tokyo Sports recently talked to Asuka about her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship win at WWE TLC 2018. While a former NXT Champion, it was the first time that the Japanese star had won gold on the main roster. What made the moment even better was the reaction she got from Vince McMahon behind the scenes.
Asuka revealed to Tokyo Sports that McMahon congratulated her after the match had ended backstage. After hugging her, McMahon told her that he enjoyed the match and that he was happy for her.
She also revealed what her next goal is. “I would like to have a title match at WrestleMania,” Asuka told Tokyo Sports. That certainly seems like a realistic outcome as long as she can keep the belt for the next couple months.
