It’s a double taping of SmackDown Live tonight. Due to the holidays, WWE wasn’t live this week, instead the Fresno crowd got to see two episodes of the blue brand. Confirmed for the show is a US Championship match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev, and a MizTV segment with Shane McMahon!
If you haven’t seen them already, check out the RAW results as well!
R-Truth and Carmella come to the ring to cut a promo, but they’re interrupted by none other than WWE Champion Daniel Bryan. Truth is dressed up like Santa Claus, and Bryan calls the crowd “fickle” for playing into his act. Bryan says that Truth’s entire career is just a “tired, old joke.” Truth doesn’t mind this since he’ll be entering at number 30 at the Royal Rumble and that he’ll take the WWE Championship from Daniel Bryan if he’s even still champion at that point. “Here’s a very legitimate question” posited Bryan. “How can you win the Royal Rumble if you can’t even count to 30?” This led to R-Truth counting to a 7-second dance break, which was ended prematurely by Bryan attacking him. The next match is Andrade Almas versus Mustafa Ali! The match is said to be very good and ends after Ali hits the 054 and pins Almas. View highlights of the match.
Next is an eight-man tag match between Sanity and The Bar versus The Usos and The Club. Meanwhile, The New Day will be on commentary in Christmas-themed gear. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows wind up getting the win by hitting a Magic Killer on Cesaro! View highlights of the match.
The Miz comes out and introduces is guest Shane McMahon. Naturally, the Best in the World trophy is out with them. It’s happening! The Co-Besties are now an official tag team! What a moment! View highlights of the segment.
