A lot of criticism has come down on the WWE as of late due to WWE RAW ratings reaching all-time lows. While many feel the dwindling numbers are deserved, there are many within the industry that will defend the tense circumstances in which WWE writers must work.

One such defender is Jimmy Jacobs. The IMPACT Wrestling regular was once a member of WWE’s creative team. He is highly credited with the WWE RAW rivalry of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens as well as the popular Chris Jericho gimmick, The List of Jericho.

In a response to a tweet calling the raw ratings embarrassing, Jacobs spoke up and said writing a 3-hour show isn’t as easy as some think. This led to a few interesting exchanges with both fans and performers in the industry such as Matt Jackson of The Young Bucks, who claimed that simply doing their 15-minute YouTube show is hard as it is:

Seth Rollins, whose tirade against Baron Corbin on Monday’s episode was seen as a way to get fan criticism on-screen, spoke up in this thread as well:

That’s the one thing I don’t think people understand. 5 hours of live TV every week. EVERY WEEK. Add in all the extraneous variables that affect the final outcome….and it’s a modern miracle that the shows come together as well as they do.
