Bobby Roode and Chad Gable won the RAW Tag Team Championship after defeating The Authors of Pain and Drake Maverick in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match on this week’s RAW.
Roode and Gable have had a number of issues with The Authors of Pain, mainly with their manager Drake Maverick desecrating the robe of Roode. The multiple distractions would cost Roode and Gable opportunities at the tag team titles until this week, where the Glorious Duo would get a semblance of revenge.
Gable would sport new gear akin to his veteran tag partner, renewing their desire to win the tag team titles. AOP and Maverick would gain an advantage early on, dominating the challengers on all cylinders. When it looked like the match was won for the champions, Maverick would tag himself in to add insult to injury. That plan immediately backfired as Roode would counter the pinfall attempt with one of his own for the victory and championship win.
