UFC and MMA star Paige VanZant is currently in Portugal for the global tech conference Web Summit where Stephanie McMahon will be the guest speaker and this sparked some conversation as to if there could be a WWE connection down the road for the fighter. VanZant did not rule out the possibility as she did make note that she did get a chance to speak with Stephanie. (quotes and h/t to MMA Weekly)
“I’m not ready to leave the UFC just yet. I love being a professional fighter and I still have a long career ahead of me. I also think the WWE is an amazing organization and it’s a very athletic entertainment industry which would suit me,” she admitted.
“There’s probably huge potential for a crossover down the line and of course I’m a big fan of what they do, so it would be great to be a part of. I got the opportunity to talk to Stephanie for a little bit on Tuesday which was great.”
VanZant has been on the shelf with a broken arm for ten months and this January will be her first fight since losing to Jessica-Rose Clark.
