There were a lot of fans who were incensed by the decision to turn Dean Ambrose heel on Seth Rollins at the end of RAW. There is an argument that can be made as to that turn being unnecessary on what was such a truly emotional night for The Shield with the very real and scary announcement from Roman Reigns that he has leukemia and he must step away from the ring. However, for a lot of long-time fans, this was par for the course because professional wrestling has always operated under the core principle that ‘The Show Must Go On.’
The ECW brand in the 1990s was known for doing a lot of highly controversial angles and continuing on to the next story in spite of any backlash. In that spirit, ECW original Tommy Dreamer tweeted a statement in relation to the section of fans that are feeling overwhelmingly hurt by the turn where he suggests that maybe this isn’t the form of entertainment for them:
So much negativity towards @WWE for Dean Ambrose turning on @WWERollins last night
At this point if you are so offended
I say its time to stop watching Wrestling because you just dont get it
