With WWE Evolution looming, all eyes are on the athletes of women in professional wrestling. This past weekend, history was made at the Rise 10 event when IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion Tessa Blanchard and Mercedes Martinez competed in a record-breaking 75-minute Iron Man Match that set the wrestling world on fire. In the shadow of the Chicago skyline, in a humble Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL, Tessa Blanchard and Mercedes Martinez battled tooth and nail in a 75 Minute Iron Woman Match, setting a record for the longest women’s professional wrestling match in history. This was advertised to be a 60 Minute Iron Woman Match. Just moments before fans were let into the building, Executive Producers Kevin Harvey and Jimmy Jacobs announced live on Twitter the time limit had been extended and a new world record would be set in the Main Event of RISE 10 – INSANITY.

Karen Q defeated Kimber Lee
Jessicka Havok, Nevaeh, Allysin Kay and Dynamite DiDi defeated Alex Gracia, Myka, Layne Rosario and Nikki Victory in a 4-on-4 Tag Team Elimination Match.
Queen vs. Queen – Jinny defeated Madison Rayne
Cheerleader Melissa and Rain banded together to co-win their Triple Threat Match against Double D Rose
Bones of Contention (Karen Q and Ray Lyn) defeated Colt Cabana and RJ City with David Arquette and “welcomed” David Arquette to the rings of RISE after the match.
Paradise Lost (Raven’s Ash and Dust) with Rosemary retained The Guardians of RISE Tag Team Championships in a brutal Rosemary’s Rules match against Balls of DOOM (Shotzi Blackheart and Delilah Doom). After the match, Paradise was poised to enact potentially career-ending injuries to Shotzi Blackheart. Delilah Doom, after nearly two years of torment at the hand of Rosemary, willingly surrendered herself to the Shadow to save her friend Shotzi Blackheart.
In the Main Event of the evening, Mercedes Martinez defeated Tessa Blanchard in a 75 Minute Iron Woman match to become The Fifth Phoenix of RISE Champion.
The match broke a record for the longest women’s wrestling match in America. Mercedes held the record for a previous match, a 73 minute 2011 match with Alisha Edwards
