UPDATE: Turns out he isn’t at the tapings since he’s now a free agent.
Former IMPACT Wrestling Champion Austin Aries ended their Bound For Glory pay-per-view in controversial fashion last night. After losing the belt to Johnny Impact, Aries got up from the pin, no-sold the move and proceeded to flip off Don Callis.
It appears that it wasn’t a complete work, as today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Live indicates that Aries is not attending tonight’s television tapings. Host Bryan Alvarez said that Aries has gone home. He’s said to not be fired, but there are real issues between himself and IMPACT management. Apparently several parts of the angle were a work, but things got messy near the end.
