Impact Wrestling Bound For Glory Results (10/14): New Champion Crowned, LAX Wins The War

Up next, we saw a video package for our main event featuring photos of Johnny’s wedding that included Zack Ryder, Dolph Ziggler, and The Miz.

Impact World Championship Match: Austin Aries (c) vs Johnny IMPACT

Austin Aries has Moose and Kross in his corner, Johnny has Taya Valkyrie in his.

Action in this match started hot and heavy with both men staying in close quarters and Aries locking on an early guillotine choke. The action spilled to the outside of the ring. As both men continue to brawl, Austin Aries charged at Johnny, who used his parkour style to avoid contact. Once back in the ring, Aries once again to control. He would taunt Taya Valkyrie on the outside of the announcers voiced their disgust of A Double’s actions.

Austin caught IMPACT with the last chancery but didn’t haven’t fully applied and began to switch gears and continuously knee the challenger in his head. Johnny would get up and land some knee strikes of his own. Johnny would go for Flying Chuck but Aries would counter at it and send Johnny to the outside of the ring.

Johnny would kick out of a 450 Splash that was preceded by a nasty Death Valley Driver on the apron. Austin would get to the ropes following Starship Pain. Johnny would get to the ropes following a brainbuster. Aries dodged an attack from Johnny and hit a suicide dive on Taya Valkyrie. That would make Johnny incensed and he landed some strikes on Austin Aries before heading a brainbuster of his own and Landing Starship Pain for the victory.

Winner And New Champ: Johnny IMPACT

Post-Match: Austin immediately got up after the three-count and walked out of the ring flipping off the fans. Even those in the FITE Broadcast chat we’re asking whether or not this was a work or shoot. Johnny would then celebrate with his wife, as the show went off the air.

All in all, a very good show from Impact Wrestling as they continue their resurgence in the alternative wrestling scene. I think there’s more to the story of Austin Aries’ actions following the main event, but time will tell. Queens New York got treated to a very great wrestling show tonight. The moments that were major felt major, and the stars that were made tonight will have a greater impact on the industry going forward. I would strongly suggest checking out both six-man tag matches as well as Tessa Blanchard’s title defense. The main event was very well done too but these are the matches that stood out to me. I had a good time tonight and I can’t wait to see what else impact does in the future. I will see you all during coverage next week for NWA 70.
