WWE 2K19: Roster

The roster this year is stacked and really another major focal point of why any wrestling fan needs to get this game. If you would have told me four years ago that there would be a WWE licensed game that features Sting, Triple H, The Undertaker, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, and Adam Cole, I would’ve called you a liar. That, along with countless other megastars throughout history make this roster one of the best of all time.

However, it should not be discounted that the absence of Tommaso Ciampa and now the new Cruiserweight Champion in Buddy Murphy already makes this game feel outdated and that is so unfortunate. The absence of Ciampa is almost unforgivable but if you check out the community creations you will already see some very well done creations that will make it feel like he’s in the game.

The creation suite this year didn’t see too much of an overhaul but did see some fun additions. The randomizer in the create a superstar function allowed me to create this 7‘3 hippie named Shamownage The Mighty UGG. There’s also the addition of block body use for those that like the Minecraft style. I saw quite a few interesting creations like that on the community creations section. Create-An-Arena also allows for new mood lighting and fog to enhance the ambience of your show, and there’s a new cel-shaded feature in create a show that will allow you to have your custom shows feel like they are straight out of a comic book. The biggest creation feature this year is the addition of being able to create your own Money in the Bank briefcase. It’s extremely simple, but it’s also extremely fun to be able to customize what kind of briefcase your character will have in Universe Mode. As an added bonus this year you also get to defend it like a championship.

Speaking of Universe Mode, added cutscenes for Money In The Bank cash-ins, the addition of primary managers and the ability to predetermine a winner when you simulate a match makes for a much better custom federation. (Again, in my opinion, playing to the strength of the YouTube gamer) However, matches are still capped off at a maximum of seven per show and I know that disappoints some, but I believe the addition of six championships and being able to use the Money In The Bank briefcase as one of them is more than enough to balance it out.
