Kota Ibushi came up short in his match against Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s 2018 King of Pro Wrestling event. This led to some confusion as the Japanese wrestler had said that both Omega and Rhodes had belts to offer up, and he could only give his career. Some thought this meant that he was putting his career on the line, which wasn’t promoted as a stipulation for the match.
Since some fans had thought that Ibushi had his last match this morning, he went to Twitter to clarify his statement. Ibushi explained that at the pre-event press conference both Omega and Rhodes had belts to show in front of them, so he said that he would put his career there to showcase. He clarified that hes not retiring, and said that he didn’t regret the match that took place earlier today. He ended his statement by saying that everything is made up of trust.
