While brevity and lack of filler is arguably one of NXT’s strengths, the developmental brand’s television output might be increasing soon. The news comes from this week’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required). “There are those in the company pushing for the idea of the NXT TV show going two hours because they have so much talent, and to also increase the time of their Takeover shows,” reported Dave Meltzer.
Of course, this is only in the discussion stages right now, so this isn’t a confirmation that NXT TakeOver or television programming will be changing soon. There are certainly pros and cons to either decision, but two hours would allow for more talent to be promoted. SmackDown Live also shows that it’s much easier to get through a two hour program than RAW’s lengthy three hour runtime.
