Dave Meltzer took to Wrestling Observer Radio to talk about Jon Jones’ UFC return and how that might affect Brock Lesnar’s UFC future.

After being suspended three times for various USADA violations, Jones is eligible to make his UFC return after this October 28th.

Meltzer commented on what that means for Brock Lesnar and UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier,

“You know who might end up getting screwed here is Cormier because Cormier is so sure he’s getting the fight with Lesnar. Lesnar may go and say he wants to fight Jones because that’s the fight he wanted originally. I think that’s the perception and here’s the thing, if Lesnar goes and fights Cormier and gets wrecked, he’s not gonna make – they still may give him the fight with Jones; but, it’s gonna be a lot less of a big fight. If I’m Brock Lesnar – and Brock Lesnar when it comes to negotiations, his track record is pretty unbelievable – if I’m sitting here and I’m Brock Lesnar I’m not so sure I want the Cormier fight. I think I want the Jones fight first ’cause he could lose to Jones and perhaps get a second fight out of it. If he loses to Cormier, he probably could get the fight with Jones; but, it wouldn’t mean as much.”

Melzter continued,

“Jones is the bigger money fight and Brock is only in it for the money, we know that. He’s not in for championships. He’s not in it for glory or anything like that. He’s in it for the paycheck.”

Way back in June, UFC President Dana White confirmed that both Lesnar and Jones were ‘very interested’ in fighting one another:

Meltzer also contends that a Jon Jones vs Brock Lesnar fight is at least a possibility for early 2019:
