#3.) CWC first round
While being a tag team in NXT, Gargano and Ciampa happened to fit the 205-pound criteria and were called to compete in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament. In the first round, they were pitted up against each other. Many felt that it would affect their tag team partnership. The two didn’t hold anything back and had a stiff, physical and intense match-up that was fairly even for most of the time.
Gargano would overcome Ciampa by the skin of his teeth. While many thought it would be Ciampa’s breaking point, it would end up being an intimate moment where the two paid respect to one another and celebrated their friendship. They walked out of the tournament stronger than ever.
